Retirement calculator

Estimate the corpus you'll need to retire comfortably after inflation, and the monthly SIP to get there. For learning only.

Your current monthly spending.
e.g. live to 85, retire at 60 → 25

All returns and inflation are assumptions you choose — not guarantees.

How to use this calculator

Enter your age now, when you want to retire, what you spend monthly today, and your assumptions for inflation and returns. The tool estimates how big a pot (corpus) you'll need at retirement, and the monthly SIP to build it.

What the numbers mean

  • Expense at retirement — today's spending grown by inflation until you retire. ₹50,000 today at 6% inflation becomes much more in 30 years.
  • Corpus needed — the lump sum at retirement that can fund your inflation-rising expenses through your retirement years, while the untouched part keeps earning.
  • Monthly SIP needed — how much to invest every month from now until retirement to build that corpus.

The idea behind the maths

Your future expenses keep rising with inflation even after you retire, while your remaining corpus keeps earning a (usually lower, safer) return. The corpus is the present value of that growing stream of expenses — then we work backward to the monthly SIP that reaches it.

How to read it

The corpus number often looks shockingly large — that's inflation over decades, and it's exactly why starting early matters. Try nudging the "current age" down a few years and watch the required SIP fall sharply. Treat the output as a planning guide; revisit it as your life and the markets change.
